JAMMU: Judicial Magistrate AKhnoor Jeewan Kumar on Friday granted 15 days judicial remand of former SHO Khour Mohammad Iqbal Chagattaa and SPO Mamta Kumari, involved in a case of alleged rape. Police presented Mohammad Iqbal Chagattaa and Mamta Kumari before the court and sought 15 days Judicial remand as the police investigation is complete.
Observing that the offences are heinous in nature, the Judge granted 15 days police remand upto June 04, 2016 with the direction to produce the accused before the Court on that day.
According to police case, a newly-wed lady lodged a written complaint to SDPO Akhnoor alleging that she was raped by the then SHO Police Station Khour Mohammad Iqbal Chaggata when she was recovered in a complaint registered against her boy friend with whom she eloped and married.
