Ex-employees of JK Industries call on Sat, seek pension benefits

JAMMU: A deputation of the Retired Employees of J&K Industries Limited led by its Chairman M.A. Beig, President H.S. Jamwal and General Secretary Sheikh Raiz and others met BJP State President and MLA Sat Sharma with regard to implementation of Pension Benefits under JKCSR, as has been done in case of 170 employees of J&K Industries Limited vide order No. 219 of 2002 of Industries and Commerce Department. The employees briefed that on 12th March 2009, a single Judge Bench of J&K High Court issued the order providing the pension benefits under JKCSR to the State Government on the appeal of the employees. However, the state government approached double bench, Supreme Court and High Court review bench, against respective judgments challenging single bench decision. But the State Government did not get any relief and all the benches of State High Court and Supreme Court withheld the Single Judge decision and directed the state government to sanction pension in favour of employees under JKCSR. They sought intervention of the party in getting justice.
Sat Sharma assured the employees to render all possible held and take the matter with the concerned authorities for the redressal of their grievances and issuance of pension in their favour. BJP State Vice-President Yudhvir Sethi, State Secretary Aseem Gupta, and State Spokesperson Prof. Varinder Gupta were also present on the occasion.
