Ex-CEO, ZEO Kishtwar land in Vigilance net

JAMMU: State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) on Saturday booked former Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kishtwar, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) and others for their involvement in illegal appointment of an ReT in Education Department.
FIR 06/2016 under Section 5(1)(d) r/w 5(2) PC Act Samvat 2006 and 120-B RPC has been registered by the SVO against Ajeet Kumar Sharma, the then CEO,Kishtwar, Kunta Devi, the then ZEO, Nagseni and others on the basis of verification conducted into the allegations of illegal appointments in Education Department Zone Nagseni, District Kishtwar.
The SVO verification revealed that the then ZEO Nagseni Kunta Devi illegally appointed one Majid Aftab Lone as ReT Teacher under SSA Scheme in response to an Advertisement Notice No.DIP/J-9748 dated Feb, 2, 2011.
The beneficiary Majid Aftab Lone had in fact already applied vide Advertisement No. DIP/J-5987 Dated Dec 12.2009 for the post of ReT Teacher under SSA Scheme with 12th Class marks sheet session March-April 2009 passed in Arts stream under Roll No. 707964 issued by J&K BOSE Jammu in third Division.
It has been revealed that the beneficiary again applied for the post of ReT vide Advertisement No. DIP/J-9748 Dated Feb 2, 2011 on the basis of 12th class marks sheet session May 2009 passed in Science Steam securing 65% marks with Hindi as Additional subject shown issued by Madhya Pradesh State Open School Bhopal.
The SVO verification further revealed that on the orders of Director School Education, Jammu the engagement of beneficiary was cancelled and another candidate Mamta Sharma was approved as ReT.
However, the beneficiary in active connivance and league with Chief Education officer and Zonal Education officer and others got his name illegally approved for the post of ReT on the basis of marks sheet shown issued by MP Open School Madhya Pradesh.
Verification further revealed that beneficiary Majid Aftab Lone was not eligible for the said post having possessing two marks sheets of 12th class of same session in two different streams and two of different institutions. He has been knowingly and dishonestly selected to the said post by the said CEO and ZEO having sufficient knowledge of beneficiary accused having passed 12th class in Arts Stream in 3rd Division.
By acting in the aforesaid manner Ajeet Kumar Sharma, the then CEO Kishtwar, Kunta Devi, the then ZEO Nagsani and others in league with each other and with beneficiary accused Majid Aftab Lone have abused their official position and have dishonestly and knowingly conferred undue benefit upon the beneficiary. The investigation of the case has been set in motion.
