JAMMU: Sanjeev Kapoor Club of MasterChefs at JK Public School Kunjwani introduced yet another delightful recipe to its budding MasterChefs under its healthy-eating initiative – the Veggie Rainbow Sandwich. Sharing his joy, budding MasterChef Vasu from Grade 7th Falcon said, “True to its name, this sandwich burst with vibrant colors, refreshing flavors, and abundant nutrition, makes it an instant favorite among both children and adults.

Adding more gravitas, Navpreet stated, “The Veggie Rainbow Sandwich is not just fun and delicious, it is a powerhouse of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and dietary fiber. With minimal saturated fats, it falls under the category of healthy snacks that promote well-being without compromising on taste”.
Benefits: It’s rich in essential nutrients, such as, minerals and vitamins; high in fiber; supports digestive health; low in calories and fats; aids in weight management; promotes healthy digestion and contains antioxidants that protect against free radicals
Ingredients: 4 slices of whole wheat bread; 2 slices of cheese; 2 cubes of butter; 1 cucumber; 1 carrot; 1 beetroot; A dash of black pepper.
Material Required: To ensure hygiene and perfection, the following materials are essential: Small trays (2); Knife & peeler; Gloves & apron; Hand sanitizer; Table cloth & small towel.
Preparation method: Wash and peel the cucumber, carrot, and beetroot. Slice them thinly using a knife or peeler. Spread a thin layer of butter on whole wheat bread slices. Layer the colorful vegetables alternately, creating a vibrant “rainbow effect.” Place a cheese slice over the vegetables, sprinkle lightly with black pepper, and cover with another slice of bread. Cut diagonally for a neat presentation and serve fresh.
