JAMMU: A delegation of Evacuee Property Tenants Welfare Society (EPTWS) led by its President Jyoti Vaid met Custodian General (CG) and apprised him about the discrimination being faced by the tenants.
Vaid alleged that some provisions of new policy adopted in the department and prevalent in Evacuee Property Act have been violated and blue-eyed were accommodated in the past despite the fact that the tenants who are unaware of the aforesaid Act, policies and rules of the department are confronting with petty issues.
“The Department has repaired about 150 EP Houses of those having links with ruling alliance but deprived those lacking such privilege,” Vaid said. While interacting with the Custodian General, Vaid said that he (CG) has stopped repair of EP Houses despite decision of the Revenue Department that 20 per cent of the grant be kept for repairs of these houses.
The CG however remained adamant and denied to carry out repair work. He said that in blood relation cases, the transfer of allotment is not permissible whereas hundreds of the cases have been disposed off under the new policy, adopted by the department. He further said that the department will not go beyond the aforesaid Act and there is no alternative policy.
Those who were present include Mohammad Sharif, Sushant Gupta, Ramesh Sudan, Parvinder Kour, Sunny Chibber, Jamshed Akhter, Bindu Sharma and Kamla Sharma.
