JAMMU: The Erstwhile Doda migrants held a demonstration in the premises of the office of Relief Commissioner Jammu demanding registration of genuine migrants of erstwhile Doda who had been forced to leave their homes and hearths due to prevailing militancy in their respective areas and due to threat of lives of their family members.
Led by General Secretary, Erstwhile Doda Migrants Committee Jammu, Som Nath, the protestors shouted slogans against the anti-migrants policies of the government.
They while criticizing the step-motherly treatment of the government towards the Doda migrants, demanded registration of left out families.
Addressing the demonstrators, Som Raj said that the matter has been time and again brought into the notice of the government as well as the authorities of Relief organisation besides having submitted their cases files to the Relief Organisation duly completed of all requisite formalities still no action has been done by the Relief organisation in granting registration to genuine migrants.
The protestors demanded all facilities as are being extended to the migrants from Kashmir Valley to the Doda Migrants with grant of registration as migrants at the earliest.
Others present were Kanshi Ram, Sham Lal, Romesh, Thakar Singh and Ram Nath.
