JAMMU: The erstwhile Doda migrants held a demonstration in front of Press Club here on Monday demanding registration of left out 251 migrant families within a week time.
Led by General Secretary, Erstwhile Doda Migrants Committee Jammu, Som Nath, the protestors shouted slogans against the anti-migrants policies of the government.
They while criticizing the step-motherly treatment of the government towards the Doda migrants, demanded registration of left out families.
Addressing the demonstrators, Som Raj said that all requisite formalities have already been completed for registration of bonafide 251 families of erstwhile Doda District as Migrants and in this connection necessary verifications have already been made by CID and Police and the cases forwarded to the Home Department.
He added that the Home Department has forwarded the cases to the Relief Organisation (M) Jammu for grant of registration to these migrant families of erstwhile District Doda but it has failed in taking appropriate action by granting necessary registration till date.
Others who were present in the protest included Romesh Kumar, Lassa Zargar, Thakar Singh, Ram Nath, Gulam Nabi and Qasim.
