Entrepreneurship development workshop begins at MIET

JAMMU: A ten-day workshop on entrepreneurship development, a step towards self employment for engineering and management students, commenced at MIET in association with Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development Institute Jammu.
Eminent experts from the field of MSME, Small Scale Industries, Financial Institutes, Educational Bodies and in house faculty from MIET shall conduct the workshop over next 10 days. The aim of the workshop is to impart necessary knowhow about the ‘Start Ups’ including latest government policies on the Start Ups, prepare them to generate new ideas and become future entrepreneurs.
Prof Brig P.N Sharma, Chief Coordinator MIET Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) briefed the audience on the proceedings of workshop.
Saheel Yaqoob Alaqband, Asst Director MSME spoke about various schemes for budding entrepreneurs, like incubator scheme launched by the government to promote industrialisation in the State.
Prof Ankur Gupta, Director MIET lauded the role of MSME in promoting the spirit of entrepreneurship in J and K and encouraging the students to turn technological innovations into reality. He also encouraged them to make full use of government schemes and become a job provider instead of job seeker.
It is pertinent to bring out that under the extreme guidance of Dr Arun K Gupta, Chairman MIER Group of Institutions, an Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) funded by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has been established at MIET.
