JAMMU: Balwant Thakur the Regional Director of Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India launched the English bi-monthly magazine of ICCR Indian Horizons here on Friday at ICCR headquarters.
Aimed at promoting Indian culture globally, Indian Horizons features articles on the rich cultural heritage of India and is circulated world over through Indian missions and the cultural centres abroad.
With the objective to promote Indian culture, heritage, ethos globally ICCR publishes magazines in six world languages which include Papeles de la India (Spanish), Rencontre avec L’ Inde (French), Thaqafat-ul-Hind (Arabic) Africa Quarterly (English), Indian Horizons (English) and Gaganchal (Hindi).
All such magazines are will available for the readers in the library of ICCR Jammu which has been exclusively been started for the visiting scholars, students and researchers.
The Jammu Centre of Indian Council for Cultural Relations has the collection of entire ICCR publications. The ICCR has published books on a wide range of subjects, ranging from the arts to philosophy, diplomacy, language and literature.
Works of eminent Indian men of letters, statesmen and philosophers like Mahatma Gandhi, Maulana Azad, Nehru and Tagore, among others, hold pride of place in ICCR’s Publication Programme.
