Enforcement Central Wing Jammu of State Taxes Deptt celebrates Diwali

JAMMU: Enforcement Central Wing Jammu of State Taxes Department in collaboration with Department of Handicrafts, celebrated Diwali by organizing Mela Exhibiting art and craft things by local artisans thereby promoting Viswakarma Scheme recently launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Ritu Mahajan, Deputy Commissioner, Enforcement (Central), Jammu inaugurated the Mela.
All the staff members comprising of Assistant commissioner, State Taxes Officers, Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors and Ministerial Staff were present on the occasion.
SHO GRP Jammu, Inspector Niaz Ahmed along with other officials also participated in the event.
Harivinder Singh, Chief Parcel Supervisor Railways also made his presence. Besides locals also showed their participation.
Local Artisian displayed various items like Diwali Pujas made of cow dungs, candles, purses, watches, beautifully designed made of resin.
Besides Suits Dupattas (with Kashmiri work) Bed sheets fully embroidered were also displayed.
The main motive of this Mela was to promote the handmade products made by the local artisans. People participation was overwhelming. Artisian felt happy that their handmade products were being acknowledge by the people.
By encouraging such activity, it boosts up national economy and sense of nationalism among masses. This is how eco-friendly Diwali was celebrated by the Department.
