Encouraging research

0 25

Dear Editor,
The recent study by the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and the Archaeological Survey of India that has found that the Indus Valley Civilisation is older than previously believed will give a new dimension to the study of ancient Indian history and will revolutionise our understanding of world history with crucial ramifications.
It will also make the study of the rise, spread, fall and decline of the earliest civilisation all the more interesting, opening up new pathways for research, which must be explored without bias of race, ideology, caste or class.
