Enclosures are there but coolers are missing

JAMMU: Tourism Department on one hand claims to promote pilgrimage tourism in Jammu and on the other hand has failed to provide the basic amenities needed at these tourists spots. With the onset of summer season heat wave has gripped the city, and the locals in Peer Kho, a famous tourist destination are complaining that they are facing problems due to the non availability of water cooler in the area.
Pointing towards the grilled enclosure, locals allege that this is the glaring example about the approach adopted by the concerned authorities as it seems after installation of this grilled cage they forgot to install a water cooler here. Joginder Kumar Saini, a shopkeeper while talking to STATE TIMES said, “For the last three years this grilled enclosure is waiting for a water cooler. We have appealed to the concerned authorities but nothing has been done and the situation is same as was three years back. Summers are here and in this scorching heat the tourists who visit this cave face problems to quench their thirst since there is no such facility available.”
Gopal Singh, another local shared, “Lack of drinking water facilities is creating problems for the tourists coming here.
They are left with no other option than to buy water bottles to quench their thirst. This leaves a bad impression on the tourists and they often complaint about this. It is sad that the concerned authorities and the Tourism Department are least bothered about it and are doing nothing to provide the basic facilities here.”
