JAMMU: Giving is not just about making a donation; it’s about making a difference. JKPS Kunjwani is committed to impart a strong value system to its young inmates along with the requisite life skills, esp Empathy.
Expressing their overwhelming emotions towards their less fortunate brethren, the students of JKPS visited the Orphanage, namely, Ved Mandir, Jammu. The visit was organized under the banner of Fit India Movement.
The students of Class XII contributed for the noble cause. During this visit, students of JKPS distributed groceries, household supplies, stationery and eatables to the children of Orphanage.
JKiians had an overwhelming experience when the little munchkins from the Orphanage warmly welcomed Team JKPS with a wonderful song. Students interacted with the children and shared their thought, experiences and stories.
Sharing the poignant story of a boy, the Head Boy Ayush Singh shared, “When I approached a small boy, about 10 years of age, who was standing at the corner of the room staring at the glass window. After exchanging pleasantries, I stood nearby him. He looked at me with a broad smile and gave me a chocolate from his bag. He told me how his parents died in a stampede at a holy shrine, which made all his dreams dashed to the ground. He was staying with his grandpa for a short while. Alas! Grandpa handed him over to the orphanage because he was unable to look him after. With these words, big tears started rolling down his cheeks. Quickly I pacified the child and then he inquired about my family and home. I talked to him for quite some time and then gifted him my Parker pen, a notebook and my steel whistle. He was on Cloud nine while he was blowing the whistle. He promised me to write a page in the notebook every day”.
JKPS always aims at volunteering and helping the needy & downtrodden people. Orphanage children felt happy after receiving the gift items and enjoyed a lot. Feeling of joy and kindness arouse in students, when inmates of Orphanage shared their experiences with them.
Director JK Educational Society, Shashi Chaudhary appreciated the efforts of the students and staff members and encouraged them for such endeavours in future as well.
Principal JKPS Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore appreciated all the students for taking this initiative, arranging food items & gift items for the inmates of the Orphanage.
