JAMMU: Jammu & Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association (JKEEGA) has decided to go on mass casual leave on Monday, the 20th March 2017 in support of their demands including regularisation and non-implementation of Assured Career Progression (ACP) of engineers.
In the general council meeting held here on Thursday, Association President, Pirzada Hidayatullah said the government is taking the fraternity for a ride in respect of regularisation and inaction on recommendations made at different fora with regard to extending ACP (Running Grades) based on length of service put in by engineers at various levels as is prevalent in other departments of the State.
“Given the fact that nobody in the administration seems to take any interest or remedial steps, the fraternity unanimously opined that the only way to draw attention towards the genuine grievances is to take the path of agitation as persuasion has failed at all levels,” he added.
Consequent to the meeting, it was decided that the electrical engineers working in JKPDD/JKSPDC shall hold a day long protest sit-in at JKPDD Complex Bemina in front of JKEEGA Office and JKPDD Grid Complex Gladni Jammu from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM on 20th March 2017 to press for their long pending legitimate demands.
“In this regard all engineers shall put in one day mass casual leave on Monday, 20th March 2017,” the Association President appealed.
