Electric meters, fire extinguishers being installed in Govt offices

KARGIL: Deputy Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer Kargil Haji Gulzar Hussain while underlining the need for judicious use of electricity in Government offices besides installation of fire extinguishers to cope up with fire incidents has directed the district officers to take up immediate steps in this regard.
The Deputy Commissioner stated this while chairing a meeting here today which was convened to review the status of the installation of electric meters and fire extinguishers in Government establishments in the district.
Several issues including the reasons for non-installation of meters, electricity bills paid by the departments to the PDD till date, electricity bills outstanding and reasons thereof were discussed in the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner while taking serious note over the non-installation of meters and fire extinguishers in Government offices despite the availability of funds directed the concerned officers to take immediate steps in this regard.
The DC also directed the Executive Engineer M&RE PDD to issue electric meters to all the left out departments and fixed the deadline of January 15 to complete the installation of meters and fire extinguishers.
Meanwhile, a number of departments were directed to furnish the details of liabilities on account of unpaid electricity bills.
