Eight KCPS students visit school in UK

JAMMU: Eight girls of KC Public School visited Skipton Girls’ High School (SGHS) at North Yorkshire of England from 4th to 7th July on a students’ exchange programme.
The contingent consisted of Samya Vaid, Hardyal Kour, Akshita Mengi, Sahar Rohmetra, Shreya Mohan, Apoorvi Gupta, Manvika Gupta and Avantika Khajuria.
The Kcean girls spent four days at SGHS attending special classes included art and music in addition to routine subjects in sciences.
In the arts class, they learnt screen printing and in music class, they learnt some English folk songs. They also took part in the activities under the weekly theme on ‘Water Conservation’.
On the second day of their visit, they trekked to a water reservoir located in the hills along with the students of SGHS and had an enjoyable picnic by the side of the lake. They had prepared a short cultural programme consisting of solo singing by Akshita and Sahar and a group dance.
They also went to Edinburgh in Scotland on the last two days of their visit to UK and enjoyed the sight-seeing in the historical town with its famous Castle and Royal Mile.
They were escorted on the tour by Dr. Ram Thakur and Sonia Thakur.
