JAMMU: Police on Wednesday arrested four bovine smugglers and rescued eight animals from their clutches.
The success in foiling the bovine smuggling bid was the part of special drive launched by Dr. Sunil Gupta, SSP Jammu.
According to report, Police Party from Police Post Talab Tillo during Naka checking intercepted four vehicles going from Jammu to Poonch. On search, police rescued 8 bovine animals which they were carrying without any permission.
The drivers of these vehicles were identified as Mohammad Raiz, son of Mohammad Kaka, resident of Dingle, Poonch (JK02BJ-7312), Mushtaq Hussain, son of Noor Din, resident of Khanetar Tehsil Haveli Poonch (Vehicle without registration number), Jahangir Hussain, son of Feroz Din, resident of Dingle Poonch (JK12-5028) and Tariq Abdullah, son of Mohammad Shabir, resident of Dingle Poonch (Vehicle without registration number). They have been arrested and vehicles were seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No.33/2016 under Section 188 RPC has been registered at Police Station Nowabad and further investigation of the case is going on.
