BHADARWAH: Like other parts of the State, Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with zeal, gaiety, gesture and full of religious fervour in whole Chenab Valley.
Eid-ul-Fitr is the festival of thanksgiving and celebrated after the culmination of holy month of Ramadan.
With the sighting of Shawaal Crescent late last night, the Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated on Wednesday across Jammu and Kashmir.
It is important to mention here that, this is for the first time in the past many decades that Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated on the same day in Arab countries, Kerela and J and K.
At Kishtwar,hundreds of people including young, elder and children offer Eid Namaz (prayer) in the famous Eid Gah Kishtwar.
On the occasion people sought blessings of Almighty for the betterment of the nation and special prayers to bring communal Harmony and brotherhood were also observed.
In Ramban, people assembled in the Eid Gah near Masjid Market Ramban and offered Eid Prayers to take blessings of Almighty.
While addressing the gathering, Imam Masjid urged upon the believers to follow the path of Prophet(PBUH) and give their contribution to build a strong nation. Special Dua was also held to bring betterment of Distt as well as State.
People of Doda and its adjoining areas assembled in their respective Eid Gahs to offer prayer of Eid-ul-Fitr.
During his address at Eid Gah Doda, Imam Jamia Masjid Doda give religious speech and prayed for the whole State for overall development, communal harmony and brotherhood.
In Bhadarwah,from morning people started assembling in the premisses of Jamia Masjid Bhadarwah where from they marched towards historical Eid Gah in the form of huge proccession while chanting religious slogans.
Before offering the Eid prayers President Anjuman Islamia Bhadarwah Pervaiz Ahmed while greeted the people on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and described it as a great luck of people to celebrate the Eid with the people of Saudi Arabia as it’s after 30 years when people of the area are celebrating the Eid on same day.
He also criticised US for adopting anti-Muslim policies and alleged that attack out side the mosque in Saudi Arabia is planned mission of US.
He also criticised state and Center Govt for their communal approach. He warned that this communal attitude of Govt will not be tolerated at any cost.
At the end special prayer was also offered by the Jamia Masjid Imam to bring joy, prosperity, brotherhood, communal harmony in the State as well as country as a whole.
After Eid prayers hundreds of people gathered to pay obeisance to the Islamic flag traditionally known as ‘Jhande Ki Salami’. Abid Bashir Dand rendered his voice to the famous Islamic poem of Dewan Bhadarwahi. This unique tradition of paying obeisance to the flag on Eid is being performed since more than five decades. Now this ritual has spread in Chenab Valley and most parts of Jammu province.
Security has been beefed at Bhadarwah and it’s peripheral areas on the eve of Eid-Ul-Fitr by the administration to maintain law and order.
RAMBAN: The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety across Ramban district today.
The main congregation took place at Jamia Masjid Sharif Ramban and Markazi Eidgah, Banihal where thousands of devotees performed Nimaz-e-Eid and prayed for peace, prosperity, brotherhood and development of the State as well as the country.
Elaborate arrangements were made by the district administration for smooth celebration of Eid-ul- Fitr.
Eid Namaz was also offered at other mosques of the town and its outskirts including, mosques of Chandrog, Maitra, Upper Ramban, Chanderkot, Batote and Gool.
The Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Aijaz and Senior Superintendent of Police, Randeep Kumar along with officers of district administration extended greetings to the Muslim brethren.
The DDC said that such occasions remind us of our responsibility towards poor and needy and inculcate the spirit of sharing happiness and joy with needy and destitute.
DODA: District Development Commissioner, Bhupinder Kumar, greeted people on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, saying that the auspicious festival will further strengthen the bond of unity and brotherhood among various sections of the society.
The Eid Namaz was offered at Eidgah where DDC and SSP were also present. The DDC extended warm greetings to all fellow citizens particularly Muslim brethren and hoped that the festival with tradition of giving and sharing, enriches our lives with a spirit of brotherhood and empathy for the deprived, helpless and needy people. People in the district thronged the markets in huge numbers with children buying things besides greeting each other.
REASI: Like other parts of the State, the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr was also celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety in Reasi today.
Mosques were decorated to mark the occasion and markets witnessed huge rush of people purchasing sweets and gifts.
The Eid Namaz was offered at Jama Masjid Reasi. Deputy Commissioner Ravinder Kumar and other senior civil and police officers were also present on the occasion. They exchanged Eid greetings with Muslim brethren at Jama Masjid and prayed for peace and tranquility in the State.
Muslim brethren exchanged wishes, sweets and gifts with people from all walks of life. Adequate arrangements were also made by the district administration for smooth celebrations of the Eid festival. Eid Namaz was also offered in other mosques across the district. Extending greetings to the Muslim brethren, DC said that such occasions promote unity, communal harmony and brotherhood in the State.
