Efforts on to meet development targets: Nanda

REASI: Minister of State for Finance and Planning Ajay Nanda on Thursday said that government is actively working to meet development targets in core sectors and equipping the rural pockets with all basic amenities.
The minister was addressing people after dedicating upgraded power sub-station to the people here at Vijaypur area. He said the government has involved top companies to fast track the development process and improve the economic status of the poor and marginalized sections.
“For promoting participatory governance, the government is directly consulting the people for framing development plans and implementing welfare measures and schemes to meet their aspirations and build a sense of confidence in them,” he asserted adding said good governance can’t be possible without the involvement of people.
The minister further stated that over 90 schemes have been launched in the country to improve the economic profile of the poor sections and the people are reaping direct benefits. Referring to administrative reforms, he said working style of the administration has been completely revived to minimise the troubles of common man and save him from running from pillar to post for availing services. “People are getting a feel of relief as the government has activated the administration and its machinery with a renewed vigour,” he said. The minister also asked the people to play pro-active role in the development process and update the government about local priorities, difficulties and challenges to evolve a system of participatory governance. The minister reiterated that all out efforts are being made to provide better road connectivity, clean drinking water, improve quality of power supply and upgrade education and health services, especially in rural and far off areas.
Responding to the local demand for Urdu Teacher in Government Middle School Vijaypur, the minister assured that the matter would be taken up with the concerned on priority. For improvement of existing road, he said that the necessary tile fixation or blacktopping would be undertaken by involving the concerned departments.
