JAMMU: Dogra Law College organised a Yoga Day under the guidance of the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of University of Jammu.
“Practice and rejuvenate with yoga can make us feel active, energetic and positive. It also enriches the consciousness and makes one alert, aware and active and live life to its full potential,” Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust, Gulchain Singh Charak, who also presided over the function, said.
The NSS unit of the Dogra Law College observed the Yoga Day in the Campus in which 40 students participated and were acquainted with various aspects of yoga.
The Yoga Day was convened by the NSS Programme Coordination of Dogra Law College Pavita Kiran Badyal.
Throwing light on the importance of the yoga in the busy life style, charak enlightened the students to perform yoga for mental and spiritual peace of mind every day.
Principal, Dogra Law College, Gurmeet Kour, laid down the emphasis on yoga in day to day life.
Other faculty members present on the occasion were Dr. Komila Aggarwal, Sumiksha Razdan, Etika Gupta, Sarita Gupta, Nidha Slathia and Mohinder Singh Parihar.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Ashoka College of Education observed Yoga Day in which the students of Ashoka College of B.Ed and Ashoka Law College participated. The yoga expert and physically instructor of JK Public School Kathua taught the students various Asnas by giving demonstration.
Yoga expert highlighted the importance of yoga especially in the present age where life has become more hectic and stressful. He started his lessons with Surya Namaskar and then demonstrated various yogic Aasnas with the participants following the same. The participants were greatly inspired of yoga decided to practice it regularly.
Principals of Ashoka College of Education and Ashoka Law College were also present besides the NSS Programme Officer.
