CHANDIGARH: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh said on Thursday that while the Bhagwant Mann government is busy sending teachers on foreign trips, the situation on the ground in Punjab’s education sector remains alarming.
In a statement, he said it is shocking to see the neglect the AAP government has shown towards primary education.
Chugh pointed out that there has been a steep dip in enrolment in the primary education sector, yet the Bhagwant Mann government seems focused only on sending teachers abroad for training, which has delivered little to no results on the ground.
Chugh said that in Punjab, whether school education or higher education, both have reached the brink of disrepair, due to which an atmosphere of deep despair has been created among the children.
Chugh demanded that the foreign trips of teachers be thoroughly scrutinised by a central agency to ensure Punjabis are not misled or cheated by the Bhagwant Mann government.
