Getting Aadhaar card-the unique identification number for an individual -in Jammu and Kashmir for militants trained in Pakistan occupied Kashmir is much easier than for the citizens of India from other parts of the country. The recent revelations by Pak-trained militants getting their valid Aadhaar cards on crossing over to this part of the border authenticates the fact that ‘boarding & lodging’ and logistics is provided on arrival within the State and this is no secret. With militants having this identification on their body now it becomes much easier for Pakistan to disown them, though till date it never owned any of the militant killed in India. It authenticates the domestic terror apparatus. India has made Pakistan’s work much easier and simpler. The recruiting youth in Kashmir for suicide missions was something new and a matter of serious concern. It is for the first time that a group has come for recruitment to the Valley for its Fidayeen squad. There is a lot of terrorist activity in south Kashmir and the situation is hot. Since the last few months, all the outfits are trying to create similar situation in north Kashmir. This also helps in concealing the identity of the militant in case he is captured or killed during the operation as the card shows him as a local operator. Howsoever security agencies may express concern over the latest development it cements the fact that the new phase of indigenous terror apparatus once again is becoming active in Kashmir Valley. One cannot over rule the existence of many more sleeper cells who have already crossed over to this side of the LoC carrying new identity. All said and done it is the security of the nation at peril. The arrest of militant is a huge success for security forces and whatever information they gather can help in future actions. The intelligence agencies may come out with facts and figures about the existence of sleeper cells, their sympathisers, the dormant period at present it appears as the consolidation period for terror machinery and in coming times one cannot rule out the possibility of some big incident taking place.
