Eagerly Looking Forward to My Visit to Northeast, Tweets PM Modi

modi 2modiNew Delhi,29 Nov:- Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who begins his four-day visit to the northeast today, is “eagerly looking forward” to the trip, according to a tweet by the PM today morning.

During his visit, the PM will address the country’s top police chiefs, flag off a train line from Meghalaya to Assam, commission a power project in Tripura and inaugurate festivals in Nagaland and Manipur.

“I am eagerly looking forward to being there & interacting with people,” tweeted the PM.

He will visit Congress-ruled Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh, Left-ruled Tripura and Democratic Alliance of Nagaland-ruled Nagaland.

“I would visit Assam, Manipur, Tripura & Nagaland & attend a wide range of programmes that would connect me to all sections of society,” the PM said in another tweet.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the annual conference of state police chiefs in Guwahati. The meet is being held outside Delhi for the first time.

The PM is also going to flag off the first train from Mendipathar in North Garo Hills of Meghalaya to Dudhnoi in Goalpara district of Assam.

PM Modi will inaugurate the Hornbill Festival – Nagaland’s biggest annual festival – which also marks the 50th anniversary of the creation of Nagaland as a separate state out of the erstwhile Naga Hills district of Assam and the Tuensang Hill Tracts.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Sangai Festival in Manipur, which showcases the diverse cultures of the state.

He will then inaugurate the second unit of the 726-MW power project in Palatana in southern Tripura. State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation has commissioned its biggest ever commercial power project at Palatana in southern Tripura.

In another tweet, the PM observed, “India will not develop till the Northeast develops. We are committed to realising the potential of the Northeast & accelerating its progress”.
