SRINAGAR: Police on Friday arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 10 kilograms of poppy straw from their possession.
According to report, Baramulla police established a Naka at Baba Teng National Highway in the jurisdiction of Police Station Pattan. During checking, 10 kg poppy straw was recovered from two persons identified as Tariq Ahmad Sofi, son of Ghulam Mohammad Sofi, resident of Kander Mohalla Pattan and Mohammad Rajab Teli, son of Wali Mohammad Teli, resident of Baba Teng Pattan. Subsequently, police arrested the duo and registered a case vide FIR No. 259/2016 under Section 8/15 NDPS and started investigation.
