SRINAGAR: Police arrested a drug peddler and huge quantity of codeine phosphate was recovered from his possession. Acting on information, Police laid a Naka at Sangam in the jurisdiction of Police Post Sangam, Bijbehara. During the Naka checking a trawler bearing registration number JK05B-6704 was intercepted. On checking the vehicle 4,680 bottles of codeine phosphate packed in 39 boxes were recovered from the possession of Majid Abbas Wani, son of Ghulam Mohammad Wani, resident of Rakhi Shilwat Sumbal. The driver was arrested and the vehicle was sized by police on spot. Anantnag Police has registered a case FIR number 21/2017 under Section 8/21 NDPS Act and investigation was taken up.
