SRINAGAR: Police arrested a drug peddler in Bijbehara area and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Acting on an information, police laid a Naka in their jurisdiction. During the Naka checking one person identified as Nazir Ahmad Naikoo, son of Abdul Gaffar, resident of Kanelwan was intercepted. On his search 40 kilograms of poppy straw was recovered from his possession. Police registered a case FIR number 20/2017 under Section 15/18 NDPS Act in this regard and investigation was taken up.
