JAMMU: The Enforcement Directorate has appointed Dr Umair Mir, IRS, as Joint Director of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He will now be holding additional charge of Joint Director of Chandigarh Zone-1.
Dr Umair Mir was initially appointed as Deputy Director of Jammu Zone in May 2019 and now he has been promoted to the rank of Joint Director. Besides J&K, he will also hold additional charge of Chandigarh zone -1 which covers sub zonal office of Shimla and Dehradun also. Dr Umair will also supervise very important cases registered by SRZO and JMSZO which are being investigated at Jammu and Srinagar Zones of Directorate. Dr Umair Mir is an Indian Revenue Services officer of 2010 batch and has a history of being dynamic officer in Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) where he had done extra ordinary work and in Customs, Mumbai as well as Service Tax Department, Mumbai.
