JAMMU: Dr. Pankaj Trivedi Endoscopic Brain and Spine Surgeon, Head of Spine Master’s Unit Jalandhar endorsed new technique namely Banana Cage for spine related surgeries.
Giving details, he cited a recent case of one Shaista Begum (44), wife of Nazarat Hussain Shah, who was suffering from backache for the last 10 to 15 years.
He said that gradually her walking distance started reducing along with pain radiating in her left leg so much so that she was unable to walk more than few steps.
After not getting respite despite visiting many Ortho specialists, she finally came to Dr Trivedi, who after seeing her MRI report suggested Reconstructive Surgery with New Techniques.
Dr Trivedi divulged that he used Newer Titanium Banana Cage and within 24 hours of the surgery she started walking conveniently with no signs of pain. It is noteworthy that Spine Master’s Unit is a dedicated unit for Spine Surgery based at Jalandhar and is only unit in North India where stitch-less Disc Surgery is also available.
