Dr Sanjogita appointed as Ringside Doctor for WBC Middle East, India National Title Fights

JAMMU: Dr Sanjogita Soodan, Officiating Medical Superintendent of Super Specialty Hospital Jammu has been appointed as the Ringside Doctor for World Boxing Council (WBC) Middle East and India National Title Fights and other undercard fights in that event.
According to handout issued by the President of the Indian Boxing Council, the World Boxing Council (WBC) has sanctioned WBC Middle East Asia Title bout as well as India Men’s National Title Bouts in two weight categories at Hyderabad from December 15 to 17, 2023.
“The medical and weigh-in of all boxers will be held on December 15, 2023 followed by a Press Conference,” it added.
“These are prestigious World Boxing Council sanctioned International as well as National Title bouts of 8 Rounds with hard punches and knock-downs expected. Therefore, it is extremely important from the safety point of view that the Chairman of IBC Medical Commission Dr Sanjogita Soodan who is an expert in this field and has also represented India at London Olympic Games 2012, Asian Games Guangzhou 2010 and many World Boxing Championships as the Specialist qualified Ringside Doctor, be present,” read a letter sent by Brigadier PK Muralidharan Raja, President, Indian Boxing Council (IBC) to Prof Dr Ashutosh Gupta, Principal, Jammu Govt Medical College Hospital, Jammu seeking permission for Dr Sanjogita Soodan to attend world Boxing Council sanctioned national title bouts at Hyderabad.
In response to Brigadier PK Muralidharan Raja letter, Prof Dr Ashutosh Gupta granted permission to Dr Sanjogita Soodan to attend the World Boxing Council (WBC) Middle East and India National Title Fights and other undercard fights in that event.
Earlier, Dr Sanjogita Soodan had appointed as Medical Member of the Anti-Doping Disciplinary Panel (ADDP) under the Anti-Doping Rules of National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) with effect from March 31, 2023 for a period of two years.
