Dr Rajinder Thappa accorded farewell on superannuation

Kathua: The staff and officers of District Immunisation Office Kathua accorded farewell to Dr Rajinder Thappa, District Immunisation Officer Kathua, who retired on October 31, 2020 after rendering more than 30 years of service in Health & Medical Education Department.
Dr Rajinder Thappa joined Government services as Medical Officer on deputation in Department of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board at Bhawan. After serving at Bhawan for quite long time, Dr Rajinder Thappa was transferred as Medical Officer on deputation to Department of Labour & Employment, Govt of India and thereafter Prisons Department (J&K).
During his service tenure, Dr Rajinder Thappa has served at various crucial postings including CMO SMSG Jammu, CMO GMC Jammu, Senior Resident in Department of Pathology GMC, administrator NAC Arnia in Housing & Urban Development Department (JK), Block Medical Officer Billawar etc.
Despite rendering official duty, Dr Rajinder Thappa simultaneously remained active in social service. He is a life-time volunteer in IRCS Jammu and remained Executive Member of IRCS for two years. For his exemplary and selfless work at Red Cross, he was felicitated by the then Governor N N Vohra and former Health Minister. He also remained first-aid trainer for entire J&K & Ladakh.
Dr Rajinder Thappa is also a good stage actor and has produced and acted in Dogri movie Karam-Yodha. He has also received ‘Certificate of Merit in Acting’ by JKAACL in play ‘Prinday Hun Jan Kithey’.
