DPS students visit Zorawar Fort as educational trip

LEH: Delhi Public School (DPS) Leh students of classes XI and X along with their Coordinator and Social Studies teacher paid visit to the Zorawar Fort here in Leh.
The visit was organized in order to make the students aware about the historical background of the Zorawar Fort.
The aim was to inculcate among the students the sense of learning by doing. The students were overwhelmed and excited after looking the different articles of that time kept for display. The architecture and the construction done during that time is exemplary one.
Briefing the students about their visit, Principal of the School, Subhash Kumar Baldotra said that the fort was built by General Zorawar Singh in the 19th Century after his conquest of the erstwhile region of Ladakh. In spite of all odds the Great Dogra Warrior along with his army came on foot facing number of obstacles and obstruction besides the hostile climatic conditions and tough/rough terrains.
Principal of the school described him as the Great Heart.
Local Management Committee member, T.P Singh also asked the students and teachers to conduct such types of trips in future too to provide them exposure and first hand information.
