DPS Rajbagh teachers visit cable-stayed bridge, industrial units

KATHUA: To give fillip to the knowledge of staff and expose them to the outer world, Principal and staff of Delhi Public School, Rajbagh, Kathua affiliated with Central Board of School Education (CBSE) visited industrial areas during winter vacations and took a round of textile mills besides Pashmina weaving centres and recently constructed Cable-Stayed Bridge at Basohli.
A special visit to J&K Integrated Textile Park also gave an insight to
the staff.
The tour was arranged by Chairman of the school Ram Avtar Aggarwal, who made sure that teachers being the role models of children must be well versed with the surroundings and exposed to Jammu and Kashmir’s rich infrastructure and resources besides having first hand information about such facilities and industries existing in our state.
Cable-Stayed Basohli Bridge, first of the kind in North India and Jammu and Kashmir remained centre of attraction for the staff.
Principal Nirmal Mahna who led
the tour apprised teachers about
ecological imbalances damaging our environment.
The teachers during tour visited ancient temple of Goddess Durga and Shiva and were mesmerised by the beauty of natural landscapes and serene lake created by Thein Dam reservoir.
Later on return, the institution organised an Inter house Talent hunt for classes I to VIII students in the school premises where children showed enthusiasm and enacted the profession of their interest and showcased their hidden talent. Dressed as doctors, teachers, engineers, goldsmith and Charted Accountants and Astronauts they had a feel of various professions and pledges to work hard and achieve their goals.
Winners were awarded with the certification of appreciation.
