DPS organises Inter House Semi Classical Singing Competition

JAMMU: Music is a feast to the soul and it touches the inner core of the heart of the music lovers all over the world. To bring out the hidden talent of the little shining singers an “Inter House Semi Classical Singing competition” was held in the school premises for classes VI-VIII. The students participated in the competition with great enthusiasm.
It was a treat to the ears to hear the melodious voice of the talented budding singers.
The competition was adjudged by Prof. Suraj Singh, an eminent Gazal singer, Music and Fine Arts College, Jammu who lauded the singing talent of the students. He also enthralled the audience with his captivating and spell binding gazal performance.
Chenab House bagged the first, Yamuna and Tawi House clinched second and third prizes respectively.
Headmistress upto Middle school, Meenu Gupta distributed the prizes among the winners and felicitated the worthy judge. She also emphasized that imbibing music brings quality to life in every aspect. She urged students to continue their Riyaaz in music as it touches the human soul and acts as a great factor in bringing people and Nations together.
Vote of thanks was presented by Kavita Padha, teacher of the school.
Additional Director / Principal Dr. D. Joseph, DPS Jammu conveyed her congratulations to the students for their fascinating display of talent. She also wished them for their bright future.
