DPS Jammu organises investiture ceremony

JAMMU: Delhi Public School (DPS) Jammu, on Saturday organised investiture ceremony.
The event was graced by DPS Alumni, Dr. Owais Ahmed, Assistant Secretary, Ministry of Urban Devel-opment, Gove-rnment of India, New Delhi as the Chief Guest and DPS alumni-Rahul Mahajan, Depa-rtment of Finance and Audit, Government of J and K, Manisha Gupta-CA and Dr. Umar Riaz-MBBS, PG (GS), GMC, as Guests of Honour. Also gracing the occasion were Harsh Dev Singh, Former Minister for Education (Parent), Taranjeet Singh Gujral (Parent), Principal DPS Nagbani, Rajkumar Verma. Ruchi Chabra, Principal, encouraged the students and the faculty members to work together for overall development.
She also led the students cabinet to take the pledge of allegiance to their school flag. The newly inducted members of Student Council were bestowed with certificates, sashes and badges by the Guests, Principal Ruchi Chabra, Principal DPS Nagbani, Rajkumar Verma, Administrator C.L Malhotra, Headmistress Meenu Gupta, Manager Operations Karandeep Singh and Senior Accounts Officer- R.C Gupta. The Head Boy (Jaskirat Singh of XII D), Head Girl (Ishita Singh of XII F), Vice Head Boy (Mahavir Singh of IX B), Vice Head Girl (Vanshi Koul of IX E) addressed the gathering. Total 70 students from middle and senior classes of the school were honoured with cabinet positions. The Chief Guest lauded the efforts put in by the management in imparting quality education with all modern infrastructural amenities.
The Chief Guest along with other dignitaries also released School Newsletter ‘Pinnacle’. The vote of thanks was presented by Meenu Gupta, Headmistress.
Raj Pratap Singh is Sports Captain DPS Jammu
Raj Pratap Singh, son of Harsh Dev Singh, has been declared as the Sports Captain of Delhi Public School (DPS), Jammu. The announcement was made on Saturday at the investiture ceremony held in the school where in Raj Pratap Singh was honoured by Dr. Owais Ahmed, Assistant Secretary in Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Development Department, New Delhi. Pertinent to mention that Raj Pratap Singh is an outstanding sportsperson who has played under-16 cricket matches at district and national level. He has been declared as the Best Batsman of the Cricket Tournament in the All India Gadheer Tournament held in Lucknow, UP. He was declared as the ‘man of the match’ in ‘Challenger’s Trophy’ held in Jammu. Besides he has received several awards at State and National Level. He has also been the recipient of most disciplined student of the school Award in DPS, Jammu.
