BANDIPORA: The District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad today convened a meeting here to review the arrangements for counting of votes scheduled to be held on 22 December, 2020.
The meeting was informed that the counting of the votes for DDC elections 2020 is scheduled to be held at Mini -Secretariat from 9 A.M onwards till the completion of the process.
During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held on arrangements put in place for the counting of ballots including arrangements at Counting halls, security arrangements, appointment of Magistrates, identification of staff, provision for Covid-19 protection measures, traffic management besides proper heating/lighting and availability of drinking water facilities.
It was given out that 56 counting tables have been set in two halls and 56 Supervisors, 112 Counting Assistants and 56 Micro Observers have been deputed for the counting purpose. Officers said each table will have a supervisor, two counting assistants and a micro-observer.
The concerned officers were asked to ensure a comprehensive and accurate dissemination of counting related information and details.
Dr Owais directed for elaborate security arrangements and barricading of the venues so that counting process can be completed in a peaceful manner.
