Doon International School celebrates Van Mahotsav

JAMMU: Doon International School celebrated the annual tree planting festival Van Mahotsav with zeal and enthusiasm.
The students of junior classes brought different kinds of herb saplings and planted them in the school campus. Teachers explained the importance and the therapeutic uses of the various herbs like rosemary, aloevera, thyme, mint etc. to the students.
Ashoka trees were also planted by classes III, IV and V. The senior students made a compost site where they were taught the procedure of converting organic waste into compost. Students also made charts to describe the advantages and process of composting.
G.N Tantray appreciated the efforts of the students and encouraged them to keep their surroundings clean and green. Principal Vikesh Kaur made students aware of the need to plant more trees to contribute their bit towards saving the earth and its natural resources.
