SRINAGAR: Modi led BJP Government is treating people of Jammu and Kashmir as beggars. The so called package recently announced by the centre is a cruel joke to the flood affected people of Kashmir. State and Central Governments are rubbing salt on the wounds of people by taking their agony for granted. Congress strongly condemned this prejudice of BJP Government towards J and K State.
This was stated by JK PCC Chief G.A Mir while addressing a daylong political convention of party leaders and workers here at Shopian on Thursday.
He lashed out at Central and State Governments for treating people of Kashmir and Jammu as beggars. “The September 2014 deluge which has brought destruction in valley and elsewhere has badly affected the people and it is ironical that instead of rehabilitating them properly, the Central and State Governments are playing with the emotions of people in the name of relief and rehabilitation.
Mir said that PDP has allied with the BJP for the development and rehabilitation of flood affected people of Jammu and Kashmir but the so called package just announced by the centre punctured all the promises of PDP. People who voted for PDP feel cheated and misled.
Demanding response from Chief Minister and Finance Minister on the issue, Mir asked that how they will give practical shape to their development agenda with insufficient relief package.
He urged the State and Central Governments to stop playing with emotions of people and warned that consequences of this will certainly be very disturbing for them (PDP and BJP).
