Don’t play politics on demonetisation: Aseem
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Calling upon the opposition parties not to play any more politics on the issue of demonetisation, BJP State Secretary Aseem Gupta said that the time has come that the Congress, TMC and others of their ilk, should realise the need to have patience and stand by Prime Minister Narenda Modi is his drive against corruption, black money and fake currency.
Aseem Gupta said that such a gesture on part of the opposition parties becomes all the more important in view of the PM’s recent assurance in public that “difficult period will be over in next 50 days”. He said this is not for the first time that such a deadline has been announced by PM, it was on the very first day of the announcement of government’s decision that PM had asked the countrymen to give him fifty days and contribute in making his mission against corruption successful.
“The Prime Minister has also acknowledged the difficulties being faced by the people while taking up their transactions at some places but at the same time there has been widespread appreciation of the historic decision on demonetization. The people are ready to face any kind of inconvenience for the noble cause of making nation corruption free nation,” he said.
Gupta said that the people are well aware that Congress ruled the country continuously for decades after independence, it introduced the culture of corruption in the country and a large number of scams took place during all these years of Congress rule.
Now, when the PM has taken up the pledge to root out corruption, the people has whole heartedly welcomed the decision and stood up with him, which has made Congress so frustrated that it cannot even read the writing on the wall that people are ready to face difficulties but do not want to miss the golden opportunity of being a part of the movement launched by PM Narendra Modi, he added.
“Had Congress glanced on the long term benefits of demonetisation, it would not have stalled the proceedings of the Parliament and wasted hard earned money of the public”, Aseem Gupta said. By not supporting PM on demonetization, these parties have been exposed for their non-commitment to end the menace of corruption and reflection of their support to corruption, black money and flow of fake currency, which is indeed very unfortunate, he added.
