JAMMU: Dogra Front and Shiv Sena (AG) activists staged protest against the non-availability of ration at government depots.
Led by President Shiv Sena (AG), Ashok Gupta, the activists assembled at Rani Park area and raised slogans against the CAPD Department.
Gupta said that the Department of CAPD has been taking such decisions which instead of providing any relief to the poor population, has been creating more problems for the already suffering people. He alleged that in the recent list issued by the CAPD the names of the people more than 50 per cent are missing which has created a situation of hue and cry among the citizens. The people had provided complete documents for getting the new ration card under the Food Security Bill.
He alleged that large number of genuine ration cards has been cancelled and genuine consumers, who are permanent residents and were having life- long ration cards were not being issued ration by the ration depots.
Gupta appealed to the CAPD Minister Zulfikar Ali to improve the ration distribution system and rather than giving the distribution to the individuals, the distribution of the ration should be handed over to some private retail chain as the way it has happened In Gujarat which can lead to the equal distribution.
Among those who joined the protest include Suresh, Vikas, Geeta, Veena, Taro, Abhishek, Birbal, Bantu and Ram Paul.
