Do e-rickshaw operators enjoy impunity on charging fare?
Raj Kumar, Trader
When the government introduced e-rickshaws, I thought they would provide relief from the congestion caused by Metadors. However, if I talk about my family, my daughter faces considerable difficulties when she travels, which makes us very unhappy. Additionally, I want to point out that all e-rickshaw drivers in Jammu city should have uniforms so that we can see some positive changes in our city.
Lovekesh Ghondi, Businessman
In Jammu, there is no rate list for the e-rickshaws. We have to pay whatever the driver demands, which is very frustrating. I feel that the government is not paying any attention to this issue. The rickshaw drivers are operating arbitrarily without any approved rate list or as per meter, if they have any.
Adya Verma, Student
I am a student, and I know how much I suffer on account of travelling in public transport, especially the e-rickshaws. Just because we cannot afford a car or scooter doesn’t mean we should be overcharged. There is no rate list for travelling in e-rickshaws,, which is unfair to the people of Jammu. The government should also think about us.
Sanjeev Sharma, Businessman
In the beginning, the e-rickshaw charges were reasonable, but now they have become chaotic. The common people are suffering, and I specifically want to mention that the black autos have completely stopped operating in the city. Because of this, I urge the government to ensure transparency. I also appeal to the RTO to pay attention to this issue and put an end to their arbitrary practices.
Keshav, Student
As a student, I would say that there is no relaxation for us because we do not have any jobs and traveling by e-rickshaw has become quite difficult for us. I appeal to the government to consider the needs of students so that we too can breathe a little easier.
