ANANTNAG: Keeping in view the issuance of election notification for the conduct of General Elections to J and K legislative Assembly and the Model Code of Conduct being in force with effect from 25th October, 2014, the District Magistrate Anantnag has ordered for imposition of ban on keeping and carrying of Arms and ammunition in the District with immediate effect for conduct of smooth elections.
All the arms license holders in the district have been directed to surrender the weapons in their respective police stations against proper receipt till further orders.
Any violation of the order shall be dealt strictly under relevant provisions of law.
