JAMMU: Asserting that all arrangements need to be put into place well in time for smooth conduct of Republic Day celebrations 2015, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu emphasized on maintaining synergy and coordination to make the National event a grand success.
The Divisional Commissioner was addressing a high level meeting convened here on Wednesday to review the preparations being made by different departments for the event.
Deputy Commissioner Jammu, A.K Sahu, DIG Jammu-Kathua, Shakeel Ahmed Beig and other senior officers of police and civil administration were present in the meeting.
During the meet it was apprised that the main function would be held at MA Stadium. Discussions were held on composition of parade, display of tableaus and cultural items. Divisional Commissioner also reviewed the transport arrangements which included adequate deployment of buses for ferrying school children/other participants besides regulation of traffic and identifying parking places both at the venue as well in the city.
Information Department was entrusted with the responsibility of playing Mangal Dhawani in wee hours at the important buildings and also ensure proper publicity of the Republic Day programme.
The issues discussed in the meeting included white wash, face lifting of MA Stadium, seating arrangements, sanitation and cleanliness, drinking water facilities, medical arrangements at the venue and other earmarked places, provision of fire tenders, barricading and others.
Divisional Commissioner directed the officers to gear up for the National festival and put in their best efforts to make the event a grand success.
