SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Rohit Kansal has directed the officers of different departments to work in close coordination to ensure that the Eid-ul-Azha is celebrated with fervor across the valley and people do not face any inconvenience.
The Divisional Commissioner was addressing a high level meeting convened to discuss the arrangements being put in place for the ensuing Eid-ul-Azha. It was attended by Director Information, Tasaduq Jelani, Director, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Chief Engineers of R&B, PDD, PHE, SSP, Srinagar, RTO Kashmir and other senior officers of police and different departments like CAPD, LAWDA, etc.
Kansal also directed the officers of PDD to ensure that the people get requisite supply of electricity and also speed up the restoration work of the areas which have been facing shortage due to the recent floods. He also asked the Chief Engineer, PHE to provide uninterrupted supply of potable drinking water to the people.
The Div Com also asked the officers of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation to ensure general cleanliness and sanitation in the division especially around the various shrines and Eidgahs, where Eid congregations would be held. He also directed them to ensure street lights are functional as well.
