SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon on Wednesday at a ceremony released the book “Amaar’’ a collection of selected Kashmiri lyrics by Shahid Budgami.
The function was organized by “Harmukh Kashur Markaz’’ in collaboration with Radio Kashmir, Srinagar.
Reputed writers, intellectuals, poets, media persons and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Div Com appreciated the writer for the services he has rendered for promotion of Kashmiri language.
Earlier, Director Radio Kashmir Srinagar Syed Humayun Qaisar, Professor Kashmir University Shaad Ramzan, Director Information Muneer-ul-Islam and ex-Director Information Mr. Mohammad Syed Malik also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the writer for his contribution towards mother tongue.
Later, a cultural programme was presented on the occasion.
