JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu Shantmanu along with IGP Jammu Rajesh Kumar and Chief Engineer R&B on Monday conducted aerial survey of District Poonch and Rajouri to assess the damages caused in both the districts due to flash floods and heavy rainfall.
He also convened meeting with Deputy Commissioners of Poonch and Rajouri districts and other senior officers and took stock of the arrangements being made by district administration for the flood hit families. He directed the Deputy Commissioners of both the district to ensure all basic facilities like meal, safe shelter, etc to the flood victims families. He directed the deputy commissioners of both the districts to assess the damages immediately.
In both the districts, flood victims families met the Divisional Commissioner and apprised him about their problems. Div Com assured them that all possible efforts would be done for mitigating their problems.
Later, Divisional Commissioner also met with next of kins of victims of Nowshera Bus accident and expressed condolence on behalf of State government to next of kin of those who lost their lives in Nowshera bus accident.
