District Wushu meet held

SRINAGAR: The two-day District Kupwara Wushu Championship concluded at Glistan Public School Villagam in Kupwara. Around 200 young boys and girls from different age and weight categories contested for the top honours.
Principal of the host School, Abdul Hameed Khan was Chief Guest, who presented medals to the winners. He appreciated the Association for exposing the young boys and girls to the game by way of providing them a platform to perform and excel.
General Secretary, District Kupwara Wushu Association, Aijaz Ahmed appealed to the State Sports Council and State Government to provide basic facilities to the players so that they can also bring name for the country and state at international level. The General Secretary of Wushu Association, Kuldeep Handoo also congratulated the district association for carrying out their district activities. In the meantime, the District Kargil Wushu Championship started today at Kargil, a handout issued by the Association here said.
The handout also added that the 13th J and K State Wushu Championship shall be held from 20th to 23rd December at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here.

JAMMU: The students of KC International School (KCIS) brought laurels to the school. They performed well and got selected for national level in roller skating championship. The students who were selected are Rajveer Singh and Vatsal Gupta. The skating championship will be held at Belgaum, Karnataka from 16th to 29th December, 2016. Principal, Maya Mishra congratulated the students and the coach Rajiv Kalotra upon their achievements.
