JAMMU: Jammu District Wushu Championship, concluded with the holding of prize distribution function at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here. Around
400 participants, drawn from different educational institutions were there in
the competition held in different age and weight
categories.
In the closing function, newly elected President of J and K Wushu Association, Vijay Saraf, Vice Presidents, Ranjeet Kalra and Deepak Handa gave away the prizes. They also felicitated Bhanu Partap Singh and Rajinder Singh for winning silver medal in the World Cup and Asian Championship respectively. The Association also congratulated Kuldeep Handoo for earning a name at the international level as coach.
Later, vote of thanks presented by Kuldeep Handoo. He expressed his thanks to Secretary J and K Sports Council, Divisional Sports Officer, Rajan Sharma and Manager Indoor Complex, Satish Gupta for their support and encouragement in successful conduct of the competition.
Earlier, the participants representing DPS School Jammu, Jodhamal Public School, KC Public School, Jain School, Banyan International School, Tiny Tots Roop Nagar, Sanatam Dharam Kanya Vidyalaya School, MHAC Nagbani School, Shaurya Army School and Academy of Wushu (AOW) contested for the top honours.
Among others present were Sohit Sharma (treasurer), Arun Singh , Lalit Singh and Ashi Jamwal.
