MANDI: A Volleyball tournament under Civic Action Programme (CAP) was organised today by District Police Poonch at Boys Higher Secondary School Mandi on Thursday.
In the tournament eight teams of different Youth Clubs of Tehsil Mandi participated.
CO 72 Battalian BSF Sanjay Kumar was the Chief Guest and CO 38 GR Mohit Saha was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. SSP Poonch Rajiv Pandey, DySP Hqtr Poonch Mohan Sharma, DYSP DAR Poonch Daleep Singh, SI Shakeel Ahmed, veteran players, prominent citizens and sports lovers were also present on the occasion.
Chief Guest and Guest of Honour complimented the district police for the successful conduct of the tournament.
They said that the sports activities of JKP have helped the youth to channelise their energy in a positive way towards the overall development of youth and their positive contribution towards the society.
In the final match Jallian Volleyball Club beat Loran Volleyball Club by 3-0 sets.
Later, SSP Poonch along with other dignitaries distributed the prizes and trophies to the winner and runner up teams.
Matches were officiated by Sourab Sharma,Ramprakash, Balkrishan Sharma, Narinder Singh and Ravinder Singh.
