District Level Inter Zonal Tournament concludes Chenani Zone wins u-14, 17 kho-kho titles

UDHAMPUR: Chenani Zone won under-14 and 17 kho-kho titles in the District Level Inter Zonal Tournament for boys organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports under the patronage of Jahangir Mir, Director General Youth Services and Sports, at Sports Stadium, here which concluded on Thursday.
The tournament was held under the supervision of Sudesh Kumar Chalotra, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Udhampur.
About 550 boys drawn from different 11 zones of the district Udhampur participated in the tournament and displayed their talent in the disciplines of kabaddi, volleyball, wrestling and kho-kho.
Today’s results:-
Under-14: Volleyball: Ramnagar Zone defeated Udhampur Zone by straight 2-0 sets. Kabaddi: Udhampur Zone beat Ghordi Zone by six points. Kho-Kho: Chenani Zone trounced Jib Zone by score two (06-04) points. Wrestling Below 30Kg: Rahul Singh Chenani Zone defeated Mohd. Rashid Udhampur Zone; 35 Kg: Sunny Singh Ramnagar Zone beat Jeevan Singh Chenani Zone; 40 Kg: Mohinder Singh Babey Zone trounced Zakir Hussain Ramnagar Zone; 45 Kg: Rahul Verma Ghordi Zone outplayed Akhil Udhampur Zone.
Under-17: Kabaddi: Panchari Zone defeated Babey Zone by 16 points; Kho-Kho: Chenani Zone beat Udhampur Zone by four points; Wrestling: Below 40 Kg: Mohinder Kumar Majalta Zone trounced Viku Chenani Zone; 45 Kg: Rajinder Singh Ghordi Zone Winner outplayed Ramesh Kumar Panchari Zone; 55 Kg: Ashwani Majalta Zone blanked Shubham Singh Ramnagar Zone and 60 Kg: Baldev Raj Kulwanta Zone downed Raghu Ghordi Zone.
The matches were officiated by Kuldeep Kumar, Ravi Singh, Rakesh Sawhney, Naveen Sharma, Sanjay Sharma, Manik Nargotra, Veena Sharma, Rakesh Modi, Raj Kumar, Romesh Chander, Pushp Sharma, Raman Kumar, Bandana Sharma, Rishi Kumar Sharma and Vikrant Balgotra.
Among others who were present on the occasion were Usha Kumari, Ram Lal Badyal, Suresh Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Santosh Kumari, Satish Kumar, Kartar Singh, Poonam Sharma, Som Dev Khajuria, Anita Goswami, Jaswinder Singh, Swarndeep Singh Tara, Ajay Sharma, Som Dev Khajuria, Des Raj Sharma, Parshotam Kumar, Vikas Sharma, Bhoopinder Singh, Karun Magotra and Sarabjet Singh.
Later the Chief Guest, Sudesh Kumar Chalotra, District Youth Services and Sports Officer distributed prizes to the winner and runner-up teams.
