REASI: The District Level Inter Zonal tournament organized by department of Youth Services and Sports Reasi concluded here on Saturday.
Additional Superintendent of Police Reasi-Sanjay Singh Rana was the Chief Guest at the culmination day of the event.
DySP (Hqr) Reasi-Mohan Sharma, District Youth and Sports Officer-Dr S.S Chib, ZPEO-Om Prakash, ZEPO Pouni-Govind Singh, ZEPO Chassana-Manohar Lal, Subedar-Surinder Sharma. and a large number of locals were also present on the occasion.
The sports events were held under guidance of Directorate Youth and Sports Services, Jammu. In the meet 374 students (14 to 17 years) of five zones of District participated in different disciplines of sports including Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, volley ball and wrestling .
Speaking on the occasion, Rana said sports help in maintaining good physical and mental health besides inculcating competitive and team spirit among the youth. He added that sports sprit makes a man more humane and disciplined and makes him understand the cardinal principle of live and let live. He also congratulated the members of the organizing committee for the smooth and successful conduct of the tournament.
A colourful cultural program was also presented by the students of Heritage Public School Reasi, which was appreciated by the gathering.
Meanwhile in Kabaddi U-14 girls Reasi defeated Pouni and in Kabaddi U-17 girls Pouni defeated Reasi, while in Kho-Kho U-14 girls Reasi defeated Pouni and in U-17 Kho-Kho girls Reasi defeated Pouni. In Volleyball U-17 girls Pouni defeated Reasi.
The matches were officiated by Ashok Kumar, Ashoka Kumari, Romesh Chander, KuldeepRaj, Manzoor Hussain, Bishambar Dass, Ajay Kumar and Ajay Kumar Billa.
